Artist Call: It's Like I Can Touch You

We will be printing the comic in the 6.6x10.2" size. This means if you want to do a full bleed page (ie no borders) it has to be larger than those dimensions. I'll be getting out a link to a template you can use in photoshop to check the dimensions of your art in a few days. If you want to make a smaller image, go right ahead.

IMPORTANT TECHNICAL MUMBOJUMBO:
For the best 3D results, draw your foregrounds and backgrounds separately.
Remember to scan and save art at 300 DPI

That is: draw a complete background, and then draw a complete foreground - and we will combine them when we create the 3D plates to create a single image.
So for example, you draw a castle - as your background, then draw, a knight as your foreground. Send them to us in separate files - and make sure that they are correctly proportioned to each other.

Cat Odes Website

Everyone's favorite kitty anthology now has it's own webpage. We wanted a place where people could just go to and see all the requirements and updates on one page without digging through a bunch of posts. Click here to check it out.

On the new Cat Odes site, you find page sizing and other requirements, along with previews and an FAQ section.

Also, the Cat Odes on the forum is still going on, so make sure you stop by if you want to show anything off or get some help!

Misery Loves Company Released

Much sooner than we anticipated, Misery Loves Company - the second book of GOTHOLOGY, is now available through Indy Planet (and Comics Monkey for retailers).

Join us as we descend into the depression caused by the original GOTHOLOGY, The Eternal Sad.

As far as more volumes of GOTHOLOGY, we don't know right now. We are planning on doing a zombie themed spin-off at some point this year, but as of this post, don't know when exactly that is. The good news is, we are now taking submissions year round.

Miserable Website

We have given the Misery Loves Company webpage a new update to match the overall GOTHOLOGY Comics site theme.  It now also has 6 comic previews, and links to the artist pages.

It can be seen here.

Also, the book should be dropping very soon now, so keep an eye out for it guys!

PS: To Artists in The Eternal Sad, we will be redoing that page as well to match misery, and to include artist links.

Cat Odes and APSCA®

We have mentioned it as a possibility a few other places, but it is official now.  DAPshow Press is going to be donating procedes from Cat Odes to ASPCA®.

We are very proud to be doing this and a part of a book that is going towards such a great cause.

If you would like to learn more about the requirements, check out our first article about Cat Odes.

Cat Odes!

The first DAPshow anthology series, GOTHOLOGY, made everyone miserable; and now, we are going to help you get your  "daww" faces on.  That's right, DAPshow Press is proud to announce our second comic anthology series, Cat Odes.  It's an anthology dedicated to the animal everyone loves - CATS!

So, you want to get in on the fun?  Well, hurry up and get started on your cat comic then.  We are mainly thinking house cats here, but it can be any kind of cat.  There is going to be more news to come soon, but in case you want to get started now, keep reading to learn about the comic requirements.

From the Tomb Magazine Interview

Recently, we, the men of darkness, got interviewed by From the Tomb Magazine, a magazine dedicated to horror comics, and it is up on the From the Tomb blog for your reading pleasure.

Stop by, and give it a read - http://fromthetomb.blogspot.com/2009/11/deep-discussions-with-decapitate...

They also have a lot of other cool reviews and interviews as well. So, give the entire site a look through if you are a fan of horror comics.

1 Week Until MISERY

It is most likely too late to start now, but if you are in the middle of your entry, it would be good to get working on it.  Hell, even if you haven't started yet, we are making future editions, so it could be a head start for a future book if you do not finish in time.

Gothology Nearing First Print Run

A collection of comics studying the cultural force known by laymen as “Goth”. Drink deep the veins of tragedy that run wild throughout this volume, gathering the works of artists from all corners of this wretched earth.

Who is the Most Badass?

Physicist Roundtable is the story of 4 physicists (Archimedes, Einstein, Galileo, and Newton). They are dead and now in the after life... in a place set aside for those who challenge religion. They are old and bitter, and somehow get into a debate over who was the best. They each go through their stories (which are pretty exaggerated).

Gothology Previews

Check out the official Gothology webpage (http://books.dapshow.com/gothology), it has been recently updated and has short previews of 6 comics from the sorrowful collection.

These 6 comics will make you cry, make you think, make you angry, make you laugh, make you scared, and all sorts of other emotions.
