Red Recommends: Scavenger Hunt (1979)
Submitted by red2z on Sun, 12/13/2009 - 18:55
Have you ever wondered about the stuff that you didn’t know existed? Don't be crazy, of course you have! So, sit back and relax as I tell a tale of one of the best movies you’ve probably never heard of. Yes friends, and that one guy who I don’t like (you know who you are), I am talking about the classic star studded 1979 film “Scavenger Hunt.” Featuring actors such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Roddy McDowall, Scatman Crothers, and Vincent Price to name a few.
Anyway, I’m sure you’re wondering what the premise was to this masterpiece, well here ya go. Vincent Price plays a rich game maker who dies early in the film (sorry about that spoiler). Being a game mogul meant two things, first is that he was rich and the second is that he loved games. So instead of giving his money away at a boring will reading, he instead decides to have all people at the reading compete in a scavenger hunt and whoever gets the most items within the day from the list wins everything.
Yes, hilarity ensues as the teams try to gather everything from a toilet to a Jack in the Box drive-thru head. Who will end up the winner and who will get nothing in this timeless classic? By now you are probably asking where you can see this vintage gem, well fear not because though it has never been released as an official DVD you can view it in twelve parts on Youtube.
Here they are, so there is no way you can miss this:
